Those in Ireland wanting to check out the new motorway better have a very strong bladder as there is no way to get off the motorway and no rest stops, services, and no bathrooms for the long stretch between Dublin and Cork which is a 155 mile long ride. May not sound bad to some as the ride may only take around 3 to 4 hours, but to others this can be very long time between bathroom breaks.
The sad part is that the new motorway, part of the National Roads Authority plan as well as Ireland’s economic plan to rebuild after the financial collapse ran out of money before completion of the services and other necessities along the way. They did have enough money to at least warn motorist that the motorway is a continuous stretch without any facilities available. Hope those with children can handle the trip.
If this were only in America, it would be easy to find a way to provide at least bathrooms along the way with VIP TO GO. In the new movie coming out on October 15, Jackass 3D, Steve O does a stunt with a porta potty that is one that definitely the kids should not try at home or anyone else for that matter. Steve O does a type of bungee jump from inside a porta potty – a very used one at that. The porta potty is shot into the air with Steve O inside strapped to the seat. Before I go on, let me say that the crew outside watching the video cam inside the porta potty began vomiting from the scenes inside. Need I say more?

General contractor, M.A. Mortenson Co, was fined $750 on August 24 for not performing maintenance on the toilets at the construction site for the new tower at Central Washington Hospital.
The State Department of Labor and Industries fine came about due to a filing on June 22 from 90 union workers that walked off their job after complaining the porta potties on site were dirty. The workers returned the very next day after the portable toilets were cleaned up and new portable toilets were added to the construction site.
The notice stated, “The employer did not ensure that toilets were maintained in a clean and sanitary condition and sufficiently supplied with toilet tissue and sanitary seat covers. This exposed both their direct employees and the employees of the subcontractors on site to the potential for gastrointestinal illnesses that may require treatment but that would not likely result in permanent impairment. This violation was corrected during the inspection.”

The state of Washington or at least the park officials in Montgomery County understand the importance of portable restrooms. The park officials hung banners recently that honored a local cleaning company that provide the officials with $40,000 to help keep portable restrooms in the parks.

Everyone is looking for ways to be green and eco-friendly and the Eco Urinal may do that but it is pretty gross in my opinion. The urinal designed by Yeongwoo Kim is a winning entry in the iF Concept Design 2010, but I am not sure how well it will go over. The urinal has a place in the bottom for the guy to do his business and then he rinses off his hands above the urinal, which will flush away the waste. I do not see any soap dispensers nearby at all, so I am not sure why this is so great in just that aspect.
I would much rather use a portable restroom that has the urinals away from the sinks. This way I do not have to smell the odor of my waste while I wash my hands or and soap is nearby to ensure I get all the germs off my hands.
